Graduation Ceremony for the Access Program students 2012-2014 & Awarding Ceremony for the Access Program students 2014-2016.

Community Building Mitrovica (CBM) in partnership with Association for Peace (AFPK) are glad to welcome the second generation of the Access Program, but also to honor the first generation, who successfully passed all tests, actively participated and improved their English Language during this program. Through two years of After School Instruction and Intensive Sessions, the English Access Microscholarship Program provided a foundation of English language skills and informatics to bright 13-20 year-olds and helped them to take advantage of opportunities that had previously been unavailable to them.

CBM has implemented a project at “Roma Mahalla” in Mitrovica south “We want fun, no boring summer” the summer camp with Roma Children with the aim of raising the awareness of the children on their rights and the safe environment.

Access Summer Camp 26th-30th August in Hotel "Sharri" Prevallë/Prevala

Community Building Mitrovica and AFPK in partnership with KETNET for the first time in Access history in Kosova, with the initiative of the Office of English Language Program organized a joint summer camp in Prevalla.The summer camp was part of the Access Program a project sponsored by U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). The aim of this camp was to provide English skills, community building, getting to know to American culture and increase their knowledge about democratic values. ECA also assigned two English Language Fellow Officers Kate Mulvey and Daniel Peres to support with facilitating the summer camp. The camp was coordinated by Kushtrim Morina (Gjilan) and Aferdita Sylaj (Mitrovice) both Access Program coordinators with a staff of ten experienced English teachers from both cities Gjilan and Mitrovica.

Joint Summer Camp 26th-30th August in Hotel "Sharri" Prevallë/Prevala

Access Program Summer Camp for 2014 has successfully started on Tuesday, August 26th, in Hotel “Sharri” Prevallë/Prevala. In the camp are participating 68 students from different ethnic backgrounds and from 14 to 18 years old. The activities of the camp include different games, workshops, lectures, speakers etc. with the aim of learning and practicing English language as well as building new friendships and contact with other peers from different ages and ethnic backgrounds. The activities have been prepared by the local teachers, NGO activists and two English Language Fellows from US. The activities of the camp will conclude on Saturday.

Debate on Civic Education

Advocacy on “Civic education" debate, June 2013. For the first time in Pristina was organized such a debate from CBM. The main aim of the debate was to start creation of the regional strategy on civic education. In this debate, were present representatives from the Ministry of Education- program, Science, and Technology, Professors, CSOs, Media and other stakeholders.

Debate Club Mitrovica – Karl Popper Debate Format

Debate Club Mitrovica – Karl Popper Debate Format which is founded and it is part of CBMhave been participated to the “Kosovo Open 2013” debate tournament. Debate Club Mitrovica has been represented to this event with 5 teams formed by students of the high schools of the Mitrovica. 2 teams have been chosen to debate in semifinals, and three of the ten debaters have been chosen as the best debaters of Kosovo.

Daring More Europe

In March 2013 it was organized the second part of the project “daring more Europe” Under the program Youth Academy for Dialogue and Cooperation, the study visit to Kosovo and Serbia. During the study visit in Mitrovica a public debate was organized named “Dialogue across borders in Europe” where around 80 people participated from different backgrounds, institutions, International and local NGO, media and youth.  Six young students from Mitrovica (north and south) together with 16 other students from Serbia, France and Germany are part of this program.

Access Program - Learning English language, IT and American culture and values

Project “Access Program”—Learning English language, informatics and American culture and values,  supported by US Embassy in Pristina has gathered together 40 students from both sides of the city. Despite learning English language students have the chance to learn informatics, visit different institutions and to get some lessons from different speakers.  The plan for the future is to continue with all above mentioned and also to implement two English Language Summer Schools.
