‘Justice without reconciliation’: International youth seminar on war crimes and trials

The third cycle of the international seminar ‘Justice without reconciliation’ gathered 20 young people from France, Germany, Kosovo and Serbia and offered to them the opportunity to learn and discuss the role of trials and other mechanisms in dealing with the past, towards reaching reconciliation in the post-conflict countries. The third phase of the seminar held in Kosovo and Serbia from 25.10 – 02.11.2016 included field visits, presentations and discussions with experts, judges and survivors of the recent war in Kosovo.

Women from Mitrovica region enhance their practical skills in business

Women awarded grantees from North and South Mitrovica, as part of the project “Supportive Business Environment for women start-ups in North and South Mitrovica” had the opportunity to be part of an exchange visit to Bujanovac/Bujanoc(Serbia) and Gostivar(FYR Macedonia). Within this activity they visited different businesses and for two and a half days shared their own experience with business women from Municipality of Bujanovac/Bujanoc and Municipality of Gostivar.

Community Building Mitrovica organized capacity-building training for its staff on written and verbal skills in order to enhance the organization’s skillset and empower employees to reach their full potential. The training was focused on the process of working with the media and was held by experienced trainers, designed to increase visibility and ensure greater impact of the CBM’s work.

CBM’S ASSEMBLY HELD ITS ANNUAL MEETING

Community Building Mitrovica held its annual Assembly meeting. CBM’s executive director Mrs. Aferdita Sylaj Shehu reported to the Assembly for  the work and projects implemented by Community Building Mitrovica during 2016, and for the upcoming plans for 2017. In the meeting was discussed for the results, as well as priorities of the organization for the future. The members of the Assembly reviewed the report presented to them, and contributed with various suggestions for the CBM’s development in the future.

On 27th of January, Community Building Mitrovica organized monthly meeting with Mitrovica Region Monitoring Team, lead by Florentina Hajdari Hajra(Good Governance Program Manager in CBM) and Michael Warren from PAX. The members of MRMT were informed for the new joint program that is ongoing between UN Habitat, PAX and CBM named “Fostering Inclusive Development and Good Governance in Kosovo”.
